Dedicated to the Inner Movement

In Tibetan Buddhism, the group of tantric techniques known as milam aim to reveal the illusory nature of waking life by having practitioners perform yoga in their dreams. It’s a ritualised version of one of the most mysterious faculties of the human mind: to know that we’re dreaming even while asleep, a state known as lucid dreaming. Lucidity (awareness […]

There are 2 unique days each month, one during the full moon and one during the new moon, these are called Magic Moon days.

To better understand:

Think of the Earth as a physical, conscious body. It is alive and producing all the things it needs and desires to flourish and continue living.  Everything that grows on this physical conscious body is implemented into seasons so that all things work in unison to produce the best possible outcomes.  Different things ripen at different times and the time comes for other things to pass away and become compose for more things to come; all things working in a superior harmony to compliment the full potential of planet life.

Think of the Moon as an ethereal, subconscious body. It is potent with the knowledge of everything needed and desired by the physical conscious body. From here all things necessary to produce those needs and desires are organized, regulated, and implemented to manifest the best possible outcomes consistent with and conducive to all the planet’s needs and desires.

For example, the conscious earth produces healing herbs because the subconscious moon knows the desire for it to be healthy; and sets the conditions for growth of various herbs that must be implemented for this outcome to be true, then regulates it within the organization of all the other things to be harmoniously and effortlessly manifested in due time.

As Above So Below

With allegoric understanding of the above, you are the Earth and everything in your life represents the conscious; your mind is the Moon and everything controlled by it is the subconscious. With this wisdom, contemplate the benefit of having an opportunity to force new influences on your subconscious when the moon is highly vulnerable.  This unique period of time produces a penetrable energy we can take advantage of ethereally.  The energy is real and the penetration of our thoughts into this energy happens whether we control which thoughts penetrate or not…and often why our lives are not conducive with our desires.  This is the force behind the Law of Attraction—focus on what you want all the time, you are bound to influence the 2 unique periods of penetrable energy that open each cycle (month).

For more Details about the Magic Moon see previous article: A Day Without a Moon Set: Magic Moon days

Preparing for the Magic Moon Day.

To prepare for the magic Moon day whether it be the setting or the rising moon, you should empty the body as much as possible by fasting or eating very little 24 hours before the magic day. You should also drink plenty of water the day prior (food clogs our thinking process, water helps our thoughts become more fluid).

You can find the hour of the moon set or moonrise by clicking here: TimeandDate.com

  • In the menu bar go to: Sun & Moon
  • Click on Moon calculator
  • Put in your location
  • Scroll down the chart to find the day that only has a moon rise or a moon set to see the hour of occurrence.

Moon Set Meditation (the full Moon – decreasing)

This meditation must be started at or any time after the moon set hour of the Magic Moon Day until the moon rise of the next day to complete your meditation.

In a quiet space bring yourself to quiet Mind by focusing on your breath and letting go of all distracting thoughts. Once your mind is quiet begin visualizing the things that you want “out” of your life to be leaving. For example if you are in a bad relationship with someone, picture them leaving or you packing your bags and going out the door; in illness, if it is a tumor, picture it growing smaller and smaller until it disappears. Anything that you want to go away, visualize it leaving you and stay with this visualization until you get an “urge” of satisfaction that it is done. It is suggested that you visualize one thing at a time until you are satisfied with its leaving before you start another one. In this way you can do as many as you like so long as you do not rush through any of them.

Moonrise Meditation (the New Moon – increasing)

This meditation must be started at or any time after the moon rise hour of the Magic Moon Day until the moon set of the next day.

Same as previous, in your quiet place, bring yourself to Quiet Mind. Begin visualizing the things you want coming into your life. For example, if you want more money, you can visualize your bank statement growing with increasing deposit amounts, or you can visualize receiving multiple checks in the mail and opening them to find wonderfully large amounts payable to you. If you want a new car or home, picture yourself driving that car or living in that home you want; i.e. go grocery shopping in your new car, come back and cook up a good meal in the beautiful kitchen or your new home.

The key to Magic visualization is not just seeing yourself doing things as if you are an actor in a play, but fluidly causing the unfolding of these things from your mental point of view; you have to feel the texture of the carpet, bear the weight of the object you hold, form the words you speak, hear the words of others entering your ears, feel the emotion as if it were real, etc.

There is one day a month without a moonrise and one day a month without a moon set.

During the waxing moon there is one day with only a moonrise.  During the waning moon there is one day with only a moon set.

These are the magic moon days. During these times the “expel”(decrease) and “excel” (increase) energies are at their peak. Whatever rituals or meditations practiced during these days are heightened and perpetuated for the complete cycle of the waxing or waning moon; 29.53 days.

New Moon

It is important to understand that when the moon is growing, on the day of a “moonrise only,” set your intention/focus/ritual only on things that you want increased in your reality. For example, if you are mistakenly focusing on what you don’t want, you will generate more of what you don’t want for the next 29 days so be careful! Your focus must be on the things you intend to have. Please note it cannot be on wanting more because you will only find that “want for more” increasing; i.e. if you want more money because you feel you do not have enough, more expenses will arise to increase your want.  But, if you visualize having everything you want, those items will begin to show up.

The opposite is true for the waning moon on the day of the “moon set only.” This is the day to focus on all the things you want out of your life. Your banish rituals and meditations will be enhanced on this day, therefore it is important that you do not focus on those things you want more of.

The moonrise/moon set only days usually occur 4 to 12 days after the new/full moons.

Why this happens (scientifically)

The objects that are important in this analysis are the moon (obviously), the sun, and the earth. When the moon is at the same RA (right ascension) as the sun we have a new moon and from our point of view on earth we don’t see any illuminated part of the moon. RA is the coordinate system in the sky that corresponds to east/west. Declination is the measure of the distance of an object from the equator, so it measures distance north/south.

If the new moon happens to be at the same RA and the same declination as the sun, we have a solar eclipse.

When the moon’s RA is 12 hours different from the sun’s RA, we have a full moon. The earth time from new moon to new moon is 29.53 days (29 days, 12 hours, 43 minutes). This time takes into account the apparent movement of the sun over that time.

These numbers get modified because the moon’s orbit is not circular, it’s elliptical, and keen-eyed observers of the moon will be able to see the difference between the moon at apogee (farthest from earth) and the moon at perigee (closest to earth). This is in part why some solar eclipses are annular and some are total.

We know enough to figure out why there’s no moonrise on one day per lunar cycle and why there’s no moon set on one day per lunar cycle. Because the moon makes one trip around the earth (relative to the sun) in 29.53 days, we can say that the average angular distance traveled per cycle is 360 (re the sun) 29.53 which equals 12.2 degrees. (Strictly speaking there’s another one-degree due to the movement of the earth on its orbit, but we’re close enough.) Since the earth rotates 15 degrees per hour (360/24) we can easily ask how much later, per day, are lunar events (moonrise and moon set). The answer is (12.2/15) * 60 = 48.8 clock minutes. This is certainly in the “ballpark.” Some references say the difference is about 49 minutes per day and others say it’s about 50 minutes per day. To keep it easy, let’s go with a 49 minute per day difference.

If the moon set on any particular day is more than 49 minutes before midnight, the next moon set will occur on the next day. However, if the moon set on our first day of interest is less than 49 minutes before midnight, there will be no moon set on the next day; the next moon set will be just after midnight on the third day.

This is what a professional astronomer would call a back-of-the-envelope calculation. It doesn’t take into account a lot of details that would be important if an exact determination of the timing of this phenomenon is needed. I can think of several considerations that were left out; angle of the moon to the horizon, apogee and perigee of the moon, latitude of the observer, and probably a few other things that don’t occur to me.

How does this fit with real data? To see, I analyzed data from the Naval Observatory moonrise / moon set chart for all of 2012. Based on this calculation I’d expect that the time between successive moon sets is 24 hours 48 minutes and 46 seconds. I looked at the data for 2012 for my hometown (Houston, TX) and found that the average time between moon sets for over 300 moon sets was 24 hours + 50.4 minutes. I’m in the right ballpark. The actual difference in moon set time on any given day can vary quite a bit. At my location the minimum difference in 2012 is 35 minutes and the maximum is 68 minutes.

If you look at a moonrise / moon set calendar you’ll see that the day with no moon set is near the first quarter and the day of no moonrise is near the last quarter. If you think about the geometry of this, it makes sense.

To see when you’ll have a day without a moon set or a moonrise get a moonrise chart here:

http://www.usno.navy.mil/USNO/astronomical-applications/data-services/rs-one-year-us

Enter the year, specify that the Type of Table; is moonrise/moonset, enter your location, and click [compute table] and you’ll get a table of all moonrise and moon set events for your location. For locations outside the US, you can enter the latitude and longitude of the location. Note that the table does not take into account daylight saving time. So, if you observe daylight saving time, or the equivalent, be sure to compensate for that.

If you would like more information on the “Magic” aspect of these moon days please let me know and feel free to leave a comment, and share how you engage the magic moons.

Diary of A Sufi Woman:

sun - moon rise

Tomorrow morning the new moon rises with the sun to intensify the powers of the universe with masculine and feminine forces rising together; together the forces of Dark and Light will rein for twelve hours. — ”When the two become one…”

Check your location for the exact rise and set times.

In my location:

The sun rises tomorrow at 6:25 am and sets at 7:49 pm

The moon rises at 6:24 am and sets at 7: 54 pm

If you are a practitioner who works with the energy alignments of the universe this is the time to bring forth and send out.  This is a time when the rulers of the hours are at work even if you do not call them to aid by name.  But for the layman; the average woman all you need is to insert your intention at the rising hour, hold onto it…

Lunar Tetrad

The totality – total phase – of the April 4, 2015 lunar eclipse lasted less than five minutes (4:44), making it the shortest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century. It’s perfect for short attention spans! The whole eclipse including penumbral and partial phases lasted several hours. The total lunar eclipse was visible from western North America, eastern Asia, the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. At North American time zones, the greatest eclipse happened before sunrise on April 4 – the morning of April 4, not the evening. From the world’s Eastern Hemisphere – eastern Asia, Indonesia, New Zealand and Australia.

Total lunar eclipses are rare – only about one in three lunar eclipses are total. About four to five total eclipses can be seen at any place on Earth in a decade.

Lunar eclipses usually do not occur in any specific order. However, every once in a while, four total lunar eclipses happen in a row. This is called a lunar tetrad. The total lunar eclipses happen 6 months apart. There are at least six full Moons between two total lunar eclipses in a tetrad.

2014-2015 Lunar Tetrad

The first total eclipse in this lunar tetrad was on April 15, 2014. The second was October 8, 2014. The next two will be on:

All four total lunar eclipses will be visible from most of the United States.

According to NASA, the current century – 2001 to 2100 – will have eight tetrads. The first tetrad of the 21st century took place in 2003, and the second will happen in 2014-2015. The first eclipses in each of these tetrads will occur between March and May.

Another End-of-the-world Prophecy?

Some people believe that the tetrad has special significance because the eclipses coincide with important Jewish festivals. The two April lunar eclipses in 2014 and 2015 occur at the same time as Passover, while the October and September eclipses occur during the Feast of Tabernacle. This, they suggest, is connected to a biblical prophecy of the end of times.

The fact is, eight of the tetrads since the first century have coincided with Jewish holidays without the world going under, so there is no reason to believe that the 2014-2015 tetrad will end the world this time either.

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.”
The Blood Moon phenomenon has attracted much attention of late thanks to the efforts and solar discoveries by Root Source’s Bob O’Dell and Gidon Ariel.  Not everyone is in agreement as to what the Blood Moons signify. According to O’Dell, “All the prior blood moon tetrads point to a pattern of blessing on the Jewish people. They are good news for the Jews. They are a great indicator of God’s love and commitment to the Jewish people to preserve them, and a warning to those who stand in opposition to Israel.”

Full Moon Rising

A time to release old ideas and outdated things…

… other planets appear to be traveling backward through the zodiac; this is an illusion. We call this illusion retrograde motion.

2015 Retrograde Dates In 2015, Mercury will be retrograde during:

  • January 21 – February 11
  • May 19 – June 11
  • September 17 – October 9

mr_2015

This Mercury retrograde will give us many signs and signals for what will dominate Mercury-ruled areas from mid-February through mid-May 2015. This retrograde is a time to review past goals and ambitions, and take a new look at how things were unrealistic given the larger group or social environment. Here we take a new look at what’s behind us before moving forward anew at the end of the RX period in mid-February. We can get all kinds of new insights into future potentials, while seeing things in the recent past differently.

The Inferior Conjunction happens January 30 at 11 Aquarius. That indicates the coming “fusion of life and mind” will help us to a new look, new interpretation, or new understanding of the issues associated with the middle decan of Aquarius, as well as what Jupiter taught us in February 2009, when it occupied that exact degree.

So welcome many things being reviewed or coming back up to surface these next three weeks thanks to the retrograde quality of the time. Some will review past efforts to see what still needs to be integrated into the life, and/or there could be returns, rehearsals, or echoes of the past and its hopes, dreams, assumptions, and ambitions.   Read this full Article, wonderfully written by Robert Wilkinson on “The Guide of Souls in January 2015.”  This will be another important retrograde, where the past will be reviewed to see what we can and cannot bring with us into the future in mid-February. It will help us rehearse or do the research we need to get ready to spring forward in early March, clear about what we know, what we need to know, and what must happen if we are to move forward in our lives.

Another Important Perspective

Welcome Mercury Retrograde!

Hopefully by now we have all learned not to fear it, for it is simply a part of the natural cosmic cycles and can bring with it many valuable gifts!

After a strong beginning to 2015 which has moved us into setting plans in forward motion, we have an opportunity to slow down a bit and now go over the plans we have set.

This is a great time for going over the details, researching, reflecting, cleansing, clearing, and delving deeper into the various aspects and dynamics at hand.

asteroidtofl - 2004An asteroid up to 1,800 feet (550 meters) across is headed Earth’s way. But don’t worry: It will miss us by 745,000 miles, about three times the distance between Earth and the moon.

NASA scientists say asteroid 2004 BL86 will come closest Monday. That will be the nearest the asteroid gets for another 200 years. And it will be the closest known encounter by such a giant space rock until another mega-asteroid flies by in 2027.

It was discovered in 2004 and is estimated to be about one-third of a mile in size, or between 1,600 and 1,800 feet.

Amateur astronomers across North America should be able to see it with telescopes and binoculars.

First New Moon of 2015

The first New Moon of the Year:  Supermoon!

January 20th brings the first new moon of the year and it also happens to be one of the six supermoons of 2015.   This year there are 3 super “New” moons and 3 super “Full” moons  the calendar line-up of these yin/yang superpowers spread across the year in excellent proportion and alignment to take advantage of the cosmic energies of our galaxy.

2015 Moon Calendar - supermoon highlights

A Supermoon? Also known as perigee new moons or perigee full moons. Perigee means “near Earth.” Astrologer, Richard Nolle, coined the term supermoon defined as. . . a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth, measuring from the centers of the moon and Earth.

The six supermoons are the new moons of January, February and March, and the full moons of July, August and September.

The full moon on September 28, 2015, will be the closest supermoon of the year. What’s more, this September 28, 2015 full moon will stage a total lunar eclipse, concluding a series of Blood Moon eclipses that started with the total lunar eclipse of April 15, 2014: What is a Blood Moon?

The new moon supermoon on February 18 only lies about 200 kilometers farther away than the September 28 full moon supermoon; making it the second-closest supermoon of 2015 or the closet “new moon” supermoon of the year.

Each month, on the day of the new moon, the Earth, moon and sun are aligned, with the moon in between. This line-up creates wide-ranging tides, known as spring tides. High spring tides climb up especially high, and on the same day low tides plunge especially low (the yin/yang of energy waves).

The January 20 extra-close new moon will accentuate the spring tide, giving rise to what’s called a perigean spring tide. If you live along an ocean coastline, watch for high tides caused by the January, February and March 2015 new supermoons.

The January 20 moon is new at 13:14 UTC. Lunar perigee – the moon’s nearest point to Earth for the month – happens about 1 day and 7 hours after new moon, on January 21, at 20:06 UTC.  This is the day to use the harmonized cosmic energies of three vibrational forces to intensify our focus; “to see what you wish to be true.”

Which brings us to the esoteric awareness of the First New Moon of the Year:

Without being aware of the lunar influence one falls too easily under its hypnotic influence and likely to perceive the wrong dynamics behind a situation, take things too personally, succumb to depression or misplaced outrage, and fail to place one’s energies at the right place at the right time.

Just before and after a new or full moon, powerful cosmic forces produce intensified energies that can distract or enhance us and much like a wave in the ocean, we can either ride it or get flooded over by it. Granted, some people are fine with just observing enough to know when to brace themselves for the flood-over, while others prepare to jump and ride on top of the wave. Brace or ride, the advantage is in awareness of our cosmic relationships.

When the cosmic alignment of sun, moon, planet takes place close to Earth, the enhanced bioelectric vibrations are easier to align with our own biochemistry and what happens is like the charging of a rundown battery plugged into an electromagnetic charging station; only the station is a field and the charge is in the atmosphere. Every human being gets this mandatory charge twice a month; one negative charge (new moon energy) one positive (full moon energy) charge. This cosmic charge is as relevant to life as breathing is and it is also an involuntary condition of life just like breathing and under these mandatory conditions we have to make no effort for the condition to keep us alive.

However, just like breathing, we can choose going through an entire life span taking only the basic shallow breaths that come with the package, or deepening our experience of life by taking deeper, controlled breathes; so too can we deepen our experience of charging our energies with the alignment of 3 harmonized vibrational forces by purposefully directing the current of the charge towards or away from us based in its cycle.

A new moon opens the cycle of expansion for 14 days; the vibration of the alignment are pushing outward, so this is a good time for personal expansion as well as bringing things toward you. It is also a good time for starting new projects and manifesting intentions.

A full moon opens the cycle of contraction for 14 days; the vibration of the alignment pulling upward, so it is a good time for personal retreat, as well as letting go of things and habits.  It is also a good time to clear out clutter, give things away and organize your daily structure.

As with duality of all things, the counter aspects of new and full moon energies are that the new moon energies build on implosion (yin) and tends to induce oversensitivity, dissatisfaction, and depression; whereas the full moon is characterized by energy of explosion (yang) and tends to amplify overreaction, violence, and outright lunacy.

The moon rules over the imagination, and during both full moon and new moon windows the unharnessed imagination is particularly prone to being misapplied conjuring misunderstandings, false suspicions, and an unfounded increase in worries. But whereas the “new” moon exacerbates introspective turmoil, the “full” moon externalizes the trouble and draws it out.

This basic awareness is an aid in itself and evidence for the stanch observer by building her capacity of foresight. Once in a rhythm of regular observation, knowing what phase the moon is in; one starts becoming aware of a problem before it happens, predicting and executing suitable outcomes, and staying on top of their game becomes second nature, giving power over the invisible and subliminal influences of nature. With this kind of awareness one can produce more efficiently, have a smoother and more exciting path of progress through life, avoid unproductive obstacles, and gain an unlimited measure of liberation to reach ones highest potential.

Thanks to a relatively strong solar storm, those living in northern parts of the United States had a chance to take in the vivid colors that normally can only be seen from extremely high latitudes.

Experts say the combined energy from two recent solar events has arrived, prompting the Space Weather Prediction Center to issue a strong geomagnetic storm watch for Saturday.

Wait. What’s a solar storm? Basically, the sun is a giant ball of gas: 92.1% hydrogen and 7.8% helium. Every now and then, it spits out a giant burst of gas that contains magnetic properties called a coronal mass ejection. These ejections are sometimes associated with solar flares, the most explosive events in the solar system. The sun has released two ejections in the past few days, and both are linked to solar flares.

NASA says the second flare is an X1.6 class, putting it in the most intense category. The energy from those two ejections is now hitting Earth. Space weather experts aren’t sure what this solar storm will do. Earth’s atmosphere usually protects humans, but you might want to keep a flashlight handy. Solar storms can knock out power, interfere with GPS and radio communications — including those on commercial airliners — and damage satellites.

“People on the ground really don’t have to worry,” said Lika Guhathakurta, a program scientist with NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. She said solar storms don’t affect humans on the ground, although astronauts could be at risk. And our technology. But don’t worry too much.

NASA can take steps to protect the crew members on the International Space Station, and satellite operators can turn off sensitive sensors on satellites. Should we be worried the solar storm will fry our smartphones or other gadgets? “No, very unlikely,” Dr. Petrus Martens, an expert on solar flares and a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Georgia State University, told CNN. “Of course if we lose the (power) grid, that will eventually affect cell phones and the Internet as well.” Besides power grids and satellites, Martens says other possible impacts are: • Distortions in GPS readings of up to a few yards. That is not much, but it can be crucial for military applications; for example, targeting by drones. • Increased corrosion of long pipelines like the Alaska oil pipeline. • Homing pigeons going off course. (Martens is not joking about that one.) Solar storms have caused havoc on Earth before. On March 13, 1989, a solar storm knocked out power for the entire province of Quebec for 12 hours. Power grids in the United States were affected but didn’t have blackouts. NASA says some satellites tumbled out of control for hours during what’s known as the Quebec Blackout. The space shuttle Discovery was in orbit at the time and had a mysterious sensor problem that went away after the storm, NASA says.

On the upside, solar storms also create beautiful aurora. Aurora watchers in the northern United States who are outside major metropolitan areas should be watching the skies the next few nights. “A fantastic display of Northern Lights as far south as the northern half of the U.S.” is possible, Martens said.–By Amanda Barnett CNN

The Esoteric Aspect:  Beneficial Opportunity to ride the Power Wave

According to study published in the New Scientist back in 1998, there is a direct connection between the Sun’s solar storms and human biological effects.

The conduit which facilitates the charged particles from the Sun to human disturbance — is the very same conduit which steers Earth’s weather —– the magnetic field. Animals and humans have a magnetic field which surrounds them — in the very same way the magnetic field surrounds the Earth as a protector.

Electromagnetic activity from the sun affects our electronic devices and human electromagnetic field. We are physically, mentally, and emotionally altered by electromagnetic charges from the sun, our body can feel sleepy but also become highly energized.

Psychological effects of CMEs (coronal mass ejections) are typically short lived and include headache, palpitations, mood swings, and feeling generally unwell. Chaotic or confused thinking, and erratic behaviors also increase. Solar storms can drive our emotions and maximize it to both good and bad side – the point here is to be aware of it.

Pineal gland in our brain is also affected by the electromagnetic activity which causes the gland to produce excess melatonin, a hormone which can cause sleepiness but it’s also known that some people have opposite side effects, usually those that are aware of the effects.

Riding the power wave – pineal gland stimulation

Our pineal glands have excess melatonin production during solar storms – electromagnetic activity. Many biological effects of melatonin are produced through activation of melatonin receptors, while others are due to its role as a pervasive and powerful antioxidant, with a particular role in the protection of nuclear and mitochondrial DNA.

Pineal gland is also referred as the third eye, and the third eye is also known as the inner eye. The third eye is a mystical and esoteric concept referring in part to the ajna (brow) chakra in certain dharmic spiritual traditions, in particular Hinduism. This concept was later adopted by Christian mystics and spiritualists as well as people from other religious faiths. It is also spoken of as the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness. Among Christian mystics, the term is used in a broad sense to indicate a non-dualistic perspective. In New Age spirituality, the third eye may symbolize a state of enlightenment or the evocation of mental images having deeply personal spiritual or psychological significance. The third eye is often associated with visions, clairvoyance (which includes the ability to observe chakras and auras), precognition, and out-of-body experiences. People who have allegedly developed the capacity to utilize their third eyes are sometimes known as seers.

For the reasons most of you know – humans tend to have their pineal glands heavily calcified – sleeping.

Fluoride (found in tap water, toothpaste, processed foods…) is just one of the things that causes calcification of pineal gland. Fluoride is magnetically attracted to the pineal gland where it forms calcium phosphate crystals more than anywhere else in the body. How to decalcify pineal gland? One excellent link is here.

Third eye should be active, vibrant and strong… the process of decalcification sometimes includes headaches and sleepiness… – the same as they say for solar storms like the one in effect now.

… enjoy the weekend.
